I know these are unpopular opinions, but 1. I love Almedha largely because she’s fantastic at making bad decisions, and 2. I think not telling Soren about his heritage was one of the few good decisions she made.

I’ll probably make a post about my Almedha love after I get through her parts in my current playthrough.

I’ll wait for your post about Almedha because even if I don’t like her she’s an interesting character to analyze :D

and I agree that not telling Soren about his heritage was a very good decision of her. Although I still think Soren figured it out on his own but didn’t care much at that point, but this is more of an headcanon that anything else (and I wonder if he ever told Ike anything about it…it could be an interesting idea for a fic).

Almedha is definitely interesting, and since the interesting things about her are her flaws I can see why some wouldn’t like her.

I think Soren figured it out too, and my first inclination is to say that by the time RD was over he decided to just ignore it and not tell Ike, but then again there are a lot of things in his life he mostly tries not to think about but tells Ike at some point so that could be true.  You’re right, it could be a neat fic (….oh no, I already have a bunch of fics I’m working on, stupid plotbunnies…xD).  And actually I think Ike might have figured it out by himself, after all he had that conversation with Kurthnaga about Almedha’s past and probably noticed Kurth’s resemblance to Soren…so I could see Ike putting two and two together but never mentioning it unless Soren brought it up.

I completely agree, I don’t think Soren would tell him right away, but I can image him telling everything years later. I don’t even think there would be angst involved, at that point Soren would be a lot more at ease with himself and Ike to know that he wouldn’t be rejected no matter what.

I don’t know what to think about Ike though, he clearly isn’t stupid but he has some dumb moments (“What? Shinon is Rolf’s teacher? orly?”) that makes me dubious about his perceptiveness on this kind of things :/

But in any case, even if he figured it out on his own or Soren told him at some point I doubt anything would change, Ike doesn’t judge people for their parents. He didn’t even judge Pelleas for that.

Ike: You’re King Pelleas? The son of Mad King Ashnard? I expected you to be…bigger.
Pelleas: You are the hero of Crimea, General Ike. You killed my father…
Ike: It was nothing personal. Your father had to be put down.

(uh, Ashnard’s son is even smaller than you think, Ike XD)

Yeah, this can be my 7000th post. That’s okay by me.
Going to do that Pelleas post I said I might do in the near future. Maybe meta will help me unwind tonight?

Uhm..this may be an unpopular opinion but I’ve always thought that Pelleas asking Micaiah to kill him was a very cruel idea. I can appreciate that he decided to sacrifice his life for his kingdom (even though his death doesn’t change absolutely anything in the end, but he couldn’t have possibly known that) and even not telling anything to Almedha is understandable, it’s sad to think that she never got to give him a last goodbye but it’s obvious that she would’ve done anything to stop him….or she could have just told him that his sacrifice was completely useless (but again, Pelleas couldn’t have known that.)
But why asking Micaiah of all people? he knows she’s one of the few people that cares about him (Pelleas, your life is sad) and that she’s all but happy at the idea of him killing himself…he’d probably preferred to die by the hands of a person he trusts and admire but isn’t in this case very egoistical and cruel towards Micaiah? She was enduring a lot of her own already, I guess this didn’t help at all.
Also, Pelleas. Sothe is right there. He hates you. He has a knife. TADAAAN!
ps. bubbleteacup, your tags are awesome XD congrats on your 7000th post!

Pelleas’ Solution to Everything
(or what happens when I doodle stupid things I guess)

I was like -SEEMS LEGIT PELLEAS, NOW JUST STAY STILL SO I CAN KILL YOU AND NEVER SEE YOU AGAIN.- the first time he said that.
We are in perfect agreement, he wanted to die, I wanted him to die, the basis of a solid friendship are laid.
