I drew these after reading bits of Path of Radiance’s storyline for the first time in a while. I had completely forgotten how much… louder Soren was in it. (In the English translation at least. I hear he was quite a bit less aggressive in the Japanese version.) I couldn’t help but imagine him doing expressions and gestures every time he opened his mouth.

silverfoxin': 006. Without Ike, Soren has the potential to be even more of a Complete Monster than Ashnard.
Obviously this is one of those headcanons where history could diverge in several different - and major - ways.
If he didn’t really have the chance to bond with Ike and the GM, or if Ike had imparted enough of a moral compass onto Soren, he’d probably let sleeping dragons lie, and go his own…
I don’t know about having a taste for war, Soren never seems fond of war if not because it brings jobs and money to the mercenaries, and surely he draws satisfaction in being good at his job, but I don’t think he enjoys war itself….it’s more like he doesn’t care, it’s a job like any other. Though obviously things may change once he doesn’t have someone he’s afraid to lose in a battle.
About everything else… yes, yes, all of this! It’s sad, but at the same time it would be so interesting and let’s face it, Soren doesn’t have any hope for a happy ending anyway
